Welcome to One of the Most Biodiverse Places on Earth

Wild Mandari is based deep inside Yasuní National Park, a vast, protected rainforest in eastern Ecuador and one of the most important ecological regions in the world. Staying with us means more than visiting the Amazon — it means immersing yourself in a living, breathing sanctuary of life, culture, and conservation.

Far from roads and development, our remote lodge offers travelers a rare chance to experience the rainforest as it has existed for thousands of years.

About Yasuní National Park

A Protected Treasure of Ecuador

Yasuní National Park was officially created in 1979, covering more than 9,800 square kilometers (3,790 square miles) of primary rainforest. It is located in the provinces of Orellana and Pastaza, within the western Amazon basin, where the Andes meet the jungle.

In 1989, it was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, recognizing its critical role in global biodiversity conservation and climate stability.

For Ecuador, Yasuní represents:

  • One of the country’s most valuable natural reserves

  • A cultural sanctuary for Indigenous peoples, including the Kichwa and uncontacted groups

  • A carbon sink vital for climate regulation

  • A key region for scientific research and eco-tourism

Located in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon, Yasuní is home to:

  • 600+ bird species

  • 172 mammals

  • 100+ amphibians

  • Thousands of plant and insect species

  • It is a refuge for endangered wildlife and a vital territory for Indigenous communities.

A Land of Indigenous Wisdom and Deep Connection

Yasuní is also home to Indigenous Kichwa communities, like ours, and uncontacted peoples such as the Tagaeri and Taromenane, who live in voluntary isolation deep within the park.

Wild Mandari is a Kichwa-owned and operated eco-lodge, located in a respectful buffer zone inside the protected area. Our tours and accommodations are rooted in traditional knowledge, community values, and a shared commitment to safeguarding our ancestral land.

Remote, Wild, and Worth the Journey

Reaching Wild Mandari requires an overland drive from Coca, followed by a scenic motorized canoe ride down the Tiputini River. The journey is all part of the experience — as you venture deeper, the jungle unfolds in its full majesty.

We are located deep within core Yasuní territory, surrounded by untouched primary rainforest and teeming with wildlife. No roads, no traffic, no light pollution — just pure Amazon immersion.
